Norman

Speaker: Norman Musengimana — Manager, Start-ups & Entrepreneurship, Kingston Economic Development Corporation (Canada’s #1 small city for start-ups)

Norman has spent eighteen years designing programmes that help founders—from newcomers to seasoned entrepreneurs—access the right mix of capital, mentorship, and market reach. During a site visit to his Kingston office, I saw first-hand how his generosity amplifies that expertise. In this session Norman will:

  1. Demonstrate the core building blocks of an inclusive innovation ecosystem, showing how tailored training, founder-friendly policies, and shared infrastructure turn local talent into investable businesses.

  2. Map the collaboration pathways—between start-ups, NGOs, academia, investors, and government—that unlock mentorship, non-dilutive funding, and policy support.

  3. Offer a practical toolkit for ecosystem enablers: diagnostics to identify community gaps, partnership templates to align incentives, and metrics that prove impact to funders.

Participants will leave equipped to strengthen their own hubs, accelerators, or regional networks so that innovators receive the comprehensive support needed to scale sustainably.
